Events
Tyk’s LEAP online conference happened on February 29, 2024, and, from what I’m hearing it was amazing. Tyk is making the content available online soon so you can watch the presentations if you missed the conference last week.
The Austin API Summit happens on March 11–13, 2024, and is packed with great speakers and presentations. Topics include API Design, AI, strategy, access control, DX, and security. You can still register and save 20% by using the coupon Bill20 at checkout.
The Women in APIs community has been running the GET /speaking program. It’s a facilitated small-format program to build skills and confidence in speaking in the public domain. The next event is scheduled for March 21, 2024 in Paris.

Fintech companies Squirrel and Dosh are requesting the Commerce Commission to end banks' control over open banking development. Payments NZ, a private company owned by major banks, has applied for authorization to develop its API Centre, which aims to allow third parties to connect with banks for improved payment and account management services. Dosh and Squirrel argue that leaving banks with the power to control open banking could slow or restrict its development.
