News Highlight
MWC Barcelona brings together senior leaders from global companies, governments, and tech businesses to connect and create the future. It features iconic insights, big ideas, emerging tech, and global change, focusing on sustainable progress.
Börje Ekholm opened Ericsson's MWC this year, emphasizing the importance of high-performing and programmable mobile networks for the digital stack. He emphasized that connectivity is crucial for Cloud and AI to scale and that programmability is even more important as AI applications move forward. Ekholm highlighted recent portfolio enhancements and launches, such as Telstra's partnership with Ericsson to pioneer the first programmable network in Asia-Pacific. He also highlighted the transformative capabilities of Ericsson Private 5G, enabling use case automation and broader use cases. Ericsson's CEO, Anthony Bartolo, has announced the creation of Aduna, a new ecosystem for accessing advanced network features through network APIs. The company is forming a joint venture with leading operators to create the supply of network APIs, which will allow operators to sell global applications. The global ecosystem aims to deliver benefits to businesses and enterprises, such as simplified regulatory frameworks and reduced friction with customers. Bartolo expects the ecosystem to grow rapidly and welcome more partners, including during MWC 2025.

Orange will showcase AI-integrated network advancements and the launch of Orange LiveNet for API access at MWC. The company highlights its AI expertise with 150 use cases and new commercial APIs through Ericsson's joint venture, Aduna.
Proximus Global and Nokia partner to enhance enterprise app development with network API solutions; Nokia aids Carrix with private wireless to improve US marine terminals. Nokia's collaboration expands its Network as Code ecosystem, while private wireless at Carrix upgrades connectivity, security, and operational efficiency. Telefónica has secured deals with over 50 companies and aims to improve public service digitization in Madrid through Open Gateway APIs. The company collaborates with TikTok and plans to use these APIs to advance user verification in Europe and Brazil. In partnership with AWS, Telefónica is creating a SaaS innovation center, while with Google Cloud, they're integrating APIs into Firebase to enhance authentication services. Agora, Inc. returned to profitability with a focus on AI-powered innovations, ranking 10th among trending AI stocks. The company confirmed the launch of its Conversational AI Engine, enhancing real-time voice-based AI interactions.
Brandwatch announces integration with TikTok Mentions API, offering AI-driven insights for smarter brand management on the platform. The partnership allows for efficient tracking of brand mentions and campaign optimization on TikTok.
VoPay introduces API GPT Assistant, an AI tool aiding developers to swiftly integrate payment solutions in multiple languages.
