Meta launched LlamaCon 2025, a global event celebrating the launch of Llama, an open-source AI platform. The event features new tools, including the Llama API, which combines closed model features with open-source flexibility. The API offers easy API key creation and interactive playgrounds for exploring different Llama models. The Llama Defenders Program provides AI-enabled tools for evaluating system security. The Llama Impact Grants, worth over $1.5 million, support companies, startups, and universities using Llama to drive transformative change. The Llama API is available as a limited free preview and will be rolled out to select customers. The Llama API is now available for free preview, with collaborations with Cerebras and Groq enabling faster inference speeds.
