In 2021, Bruno Pedro started the API Changelog newsletter. Initially, the idea was to share any news from the API industry. However, it soon became a way to learn what was going on outside of the “API bubble.” Don’t get me wrong here. What I call the API bubble has value but is limited in the scope of opinions and focuses mostly on what API vendors have to offer.

By the end of 2023, Vania Coelho joined the project and became the curator of the News section. Vania’s job is to curate hundreds of announcements and other articles every week. We want you to see APIs outside of the bubble I mentioned before. We want to share how the real world builds, sells, and uses APIs.

That’s why in the last quarter of 2023, we published 11 newsletter editions with a curated list of announcements, news, and articles ranging from AI to security. With a total of 235 articles hand-curated from over 400 items, we started noticing trends.

In the first quarter of 2024, and after publishing 13 newsletter editions, we can say a lot is happening in the API industry. We covered things like the acquisition of Reflect by SmartBear, Bitly’s barcode API, and over $340M in funding for API products.

We curate all this information and add our own opinionated voice to it. By subscribing you’re getting an independently-reviewed list of resources from the API industry. We tend to publish twice a week and we won’t flood your inbox with useless information.

Why pay for a subscription?

Thanks to our sponsors we’re able to offer all the information at no cost to you, the reader. However, you can directly support our craft if you wish to do so. Simply pick one of our paid subscription plans to show us how you care about us.
